Chita is the first new premium whisky brand that Suntory has launched in over a decade, and one which is usually only available in Japan's 'Nagoya' Prefecture as well as Suntory’s Whisky Shops in Osaka and Tokyo. Produced at Chita (aka "Sun Grain")Distillery, founded in 1972 and located in Aichi Prefecture, the whisky has been a regular source for blending with the award-winning Hibiki whiskies as well as other Suntory brands.

Blended from spirit aged in wine and Spanish oak casks alongside American white oak, Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo has created what Suntory describes as "a milder whisky with a clean, clear finish and unparalleled sophistication and complexity".

 

Tasting Notes: 

The nose is light and fresh. Coconut, citrus blossoms, and honeyed cereal aromas bring us to a palate of thick honey, smooth vanilla, and cake spice. The medium finish is lead by gentle spice oak. A satisfying easy-drinking single grain whisky by the great Suntory.
