Being one of the five wine-producing Châteaux of Bordeaux originally awarded First Growth in 1855, Chateau Lafite Rothschild is widely considered one of the greatest and renowned Bordeaux estates. Owned by Baron Eric de Rothschild, the vineyards are located in the north of Pauillac near the boundary of St Estephe. In style the wines of Lafite are often described as having a perfumed elegance and finesse. At its best it represents a hedonistic experience for the consumer, and has the ability to age, in great years, for minimally 50 years and often longer.

It has been a consistent producer of one ofthe world's most expensive red wines – definitely top class wine.

Tasting Notes:There are layers of blackberry and boysenberry fruit, still that hint of juniper berry, certainly a more extrovert Lafite-Rothschild compared to recent vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, very focused and quite linear, again with plenty of black fruit laced with cedar and tobacco. It begins to clam up towards the saline finish, suggesting that it will need several years in bottle.
