Ardbeg is known to produce the peatiest and smokiest malts on the market. Named after the world's second largest whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay and Jura, the famous Corryvreckan, the Ardbeg Corryvreckan has swirling aromas and torrents of deep,peaty, peppery taste that lurk beneath the surface of this beautifully balanced dram.

Ardbeg Corryvreckan is thee pitome of ‘the untamed spirit of Islay’. Corryvreckan is a vatting of whiskies matured in French Oak, first-fill and refill ex-Bourbon casks, bottled at 57.1%abv. This one does not carry an age statement but is richly flavoured. Like the whirlpool itself, Corryvreckan is not for the faint-hearted!

Tasting Notes: 

Nose: Sticking plasters,buttery, creamy, roast chicken crisps, herbal, almost a hint of pine

Palate: Cream, spices,tingling, fresh fruit, medicinal, plasters, Clementines. Orange peels

Finish: Salty, more medicinal,smoked meats, peat is fleeting, tarmac, chilli, salt.
